Malt & Mold originally started as a cozy, neighborhood cheese and beer shop…
In the summer of 2024 we made the hard decision (well, hard because we loved selling farmstead cheese and artisanal sundry items; in terms of just pure, cold, brutal business, it turned out to actually be quite the easy decision. But I digress...) to rip out our beloved cheese case and our delightful (but oh so wide, taking up so, so much forkin’ room) grab ‘n’ go cooler. In its place we now have a proper bar. Plenty of room in our pocket sized establishment. No need to pretend to be shopping. Just come on in and enjoy a pint. Or a glass of wine.

We used to be a pocket sized neighborhood cheese and beer shop featuring a small, highly curated selection of artisanal cheeses, local craft beer, and artisanal sundry items. We had an on-premise license so one could enjoy a pint of beer or glass of wine while they shopped. Turned out more people enjoyed the pint of beer and glass of wine than the actual shopping. We eventually became so crowded with customers enjoying their pints of beer and glasses of wine that anyone who did actually want to shop couldn’t get in to do so.
